I don't know why, but scince yesterday it works on my home machine. I can connect from another machine (windowsxp with xming) to my gutsy gibbon. And locally wiht Xnest :1 -query 127.0.0.1 works to. In booth cases i had the ugly empty grey x-window with the x-cursor, now i see the login screen. At work it does not work, but i don't know why this is the case, booth machines have the same updates and the same settings...perhaps i have installed a package that brings me the funktionality for xdmcp? I'm a little confused...
