Public bug reported: Installing the Kubuntu Release Candidate 20171017.1 zsync'd today onto an SSD that had Ubuntu 16.04.2 on it. After choosing "Install Kubuntu" clicking the choices (such as download updates in the background while installing for instance) did nothing. The only way to navigate was tab, arrow keys or left click plus arrow keys.
In addition, since I was trying to test guided install, the choices of which drive on which to install the new system took multiple tries to change. In short, Ubiquity seemed to be ignoring most of the keyboard and touchpad entirely. My hardware: https://gist.github.com/471d2e93e692d75a9da13475c5d510be The system was reported to have installed correctly before I encountered the next bug in a separate report. Since I am reporting this bug from my running system on a different hard disk, I do not have the /var/log/installer/syslog and /var/log/installer/partman asked for. And since the reboot came up completely black (next bug report) I'm not sure how to get them until I get that issue fixed.
