It was a HP ZBook 15 G3 with 2 internal SSDs (one that looks like a disk, the other looks more like a RAM chip), both formatted to old style MSDOS partition table/BIOS/MBR boot. I booted from the live CD with UEFI and wanted to install on some free space but without formatting the disks
I removed the disk looking like a disk (thus only keeping the one that looked more like a RAM chip) and reformatted the while disk to Partition Table: gpt and could install in that way. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1722568 Title: Cannot do fresh install on a HP Zbook To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1722568/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
