I have similar symptoms on a clean install of Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy. Firefox slows to less than a crawl (it's painful typing this!)
I have one page open that uses AJAX and Javascript to update a table. The page is less than 1K. As long as this (or any other javascript- containing window is open) FF Cpu usage jumps to 100% every other second. Soon as I kill firefox my system performance returns to normal. P4 3Ghz, Geforce 6800, Compiz-fusion Gnome desktop. I did install the google toolbar, and have disabled it, same prob. Don't recall it happening before though. I will remove FF and do a neat install and report back. -- firefox very slow compared to other browsers on large pages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132681 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
