I am with the same problem. I installed the final version of Ubuntu 7,10 and everything functioned perfectly. However, when installing driver of the video plate (Radeon X1300 256MB), I restarted the Ubuntu and after boot appears a black screen.
My processor is i386. It would like to see this error fixed.
