Binary package hint: gtk-qt-engine
This is a serious regression when compared to Edgy (the last release for
which Gtk apps worked okay in Kubuntu), and it's likely to be the same
problem that began in Feisty (see bug #108929 for details).
Affected applications: the only Gtk-based apps I use are Firefox, Amule,
and the Gimp. All of them are affected. Firefox seems the be the
worst: it can barely last 5-10 minutes before crashing. (And by the way,
this is unlikely to be an extensions problem. I have uninstalled all of
them before, and Firefox will still merrily crash).
