Public bug reported:

After updates on August 14th to ubuntu-session and related packages,
window snapping (moving the application window to the edges of the
screen to half-maximize or maximize) seems to be deactivated.

I tried "gsettings set org.gnome.shell.overrides edge-tiling true" to no
avail.
