I use Ubuntu 7.10 final (displayconfig-gtk 0.3.7) I have manually performed dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg to solve the problem (because I experience incorrect refresh rates with intel driver, I reported that too - https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155261.
