Public bug reported: There are a number of incompatibilities between django-piston3 as included in Artful and Django 1.11 that's in the proposed pipeline.
Note that most of these are required even for 1.10 that's in Artful main already, and these are a requirement for MAAS. The full debian/changelog entry for the attached patches is at http://paste.ubuntu.com/25010672/. Changes are pushed upstream at https://bitbucket.org/userzimmermann /django-piston3/pull-requests/2/support-django-111/diff but they have not been looked at yet. FWIW, I've gotten the django-piston3 test-suite on par with how it behaves with Django 1.8 in Xenial (one test failure).
