Both touchpad and touchscreen failed to initialize because of i2c-designware:

[    9.348437] i2c_hid i2c-ELAN0602:00: hid_descr_cmd failed

Can you try latest mainline kernel (v4.12) again?
If the issue still happen, you need to file an upstream bug.
