Well, it's acombined issue: An ubuntu package shows content from motd.ubuntu.com. If we have control over what motd.ubuntu.com contains then we should fix that. If we don't have control over the quality of what motd.ubuntu.com contains then we shouldn't use it.
User's won't know where the information comes from, only that Ubuntu shows it. Therefore we should only show information from sources we can rely on to show useful information to users.
