Hi
Just a report I was thrilled to hear this was fixed in 16.10  I ran
17.04 and was going to install it to my hard drive in place of the
MX-16 on there and get my beloved Mate back but the same panel
notification came up.   This happened when I was in Mate tweek and was
switching desktop looks.  I think Ubuntu Mate is the best distro but is
so buggy and I had Debian Mate but there was no update notifier so I
went with a XFCE desktop but really miss Mate.
