Public bug reported: Basically, this bug came back after upgrading to 17.04: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input- evdev/+bug/1246683
I'm using libinput and not evdev, so I'm not sure why this is happening. I do see that in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ there are evdev config files, but then the libinput file should be loaded after after (prefixed with 40- instead of 10-). Running the modprobe command listed here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/864377/touchpad-while-holding-on- touchpad-it-doesnt-work makes the scrolling work, but then it breaks the clickpad's touch rejection for the button areas. One potential issue is that I'm using Kernel 4.8 instead of 4.10 which was the 16.10 version, since for some reason on 4.10 I used to get periodic full system hangs. I'm not sure how to proceed with debugging this issue, so any help is greatly appreciated!
