Upgrading to SMB version 3 seems to have fixed it, now running stable since 12 hours whereas the mount point went away after approx. 50 minutes with the old version. Current mount options: iocharset=utf8,rw,credentials=/path,uid=0,gid=0,file_mode=0660,dir_mode=0770,vers=3.0
