My attempts to remove or re-install snapd failed so far. I lost patience and hacked snapd.prerm by making it exit 0 immediately. After that, the apt-get upgrade had no more issues changing that package. Snappy works now and can install and uninstall packages. I tested it with the "hello- world" package. Snappy had not worked before, so I guess that's a viable workaround?
