I confirm the same bug, the bug does not occur when starting evolution with: $ evolution --disable-eplugin and $ evolution --component=calendar So I use the last option as a temporary solution , I'm not sure if this helps anybody... Note that even with "--component=calendar" your mail is being checked on startup!
