I agree that this is an unfortunate situation. I did as much as I realistically could to mitigate it in versions 0.4.41+16.04.20151211-0ubuntu1 and 0.4.43+16.04.20160203-0ubuntu1. click is end-of-life, is now lacking a regular maintainer, is due to be replaced by snapd/snapcraft/etc., and will be removed once the migration has been complete; so the (non-trivial) effort to rename it wouldn't pay off.
