Public bug reported:

After updating to these drivers (or any of the newer nvidia drivers on
the graphics ppa) using Additional Drivers and restarting, Ubuntu
freezes after I enter my password and press enter. Switching back to the
Nouveau drivers makes everything work again.

Setup:
* Ubuntu 16.10
* nvidia-375 (.39)
* Dell XPS 15 9560
* Kaby Lake
* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB GDDR5
* Intel HD 630

What logs would be helpful for you when debugging?
