Dell X300 + Dell Wireless a/b/g 1400 mini-pci
Broadcom 4324 I believe
Gutsi RC, all updates, 2 days before launch :)

The speed is still ABYSMAL - and indeed it can be made somehow better by
forcing the speed rate to 5.5M,

Bit Rate=5.5 Mb/s Tx-Power=14 dBm
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off

but IT WORKS VERY WELL WITH NDISWRAPPER (after blacklisting bcm43xx),
the difference seems to be:

Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power:25 dBm
RTS thr:2347 B Fragment thr:2346 B

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT BCM43XX MIGHT GENERATE PROBLEMS ON
SUSPEND/RESTORE!!! (basically I could never restore after suspend-to-RAM
with bcm43xx, but with ndiswrapper it seems to work every time).

That also kind of reminds me of a very similar problem that the Windows
BROADCOM original driver can have - there are 2 advanced settings for that
driver that are power-related - "Power Save Mode" - which is best set to
"Fast", and "Minimum Power Consumption" - which on this specific Dell 1400 =
BCM4324 should be set to "Disabled" - when enabled the same incredibly small
speed can be seen in Windows !!! That kind of suggests that a possible
explanation might be that the Linux bcm43xx driver is somehow setting the
corresponding internal status of the device to something similar to "Minimum
Power Consumption" - which for this specific model (4324) does not seem to
always work as expected !!!
