In contrast to #5 and not knowing any better interface, I expect 'lsb_release' to tell you if system uses HWE or not.
This can triggered by installiation of packet 'linux-image-generic- hwe.16.04' or 'linux-image-lowlatency-hwe.16.04'. These packets should - either replace paket 'base-files' with an version for '...-hwe', maybe named 'base-files-hwe', which contains a file '/etc/lsb_release' with the string ' (HWE)' after the old description - or run a script on installiation thich edits the file '/etc/lsb_release'. ** Tags added: precice trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1665653 Title: lsb_release -d should show a hint if it uses HWE or not To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/base-files/+bug/1665653/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
