Public bug reported:

I recently had an instance of nrpe daemon from the nagios-nrpe-server
package stop responding even though ps and "service nagios-nrpe-server
status" showed it as still running. netcat showed he port as still
being open and accessible from our nagios server, but check_nrpe calls
from the nagios server would fail with socket timeout.

As soon as I did a "service nagios-nrpe-server restart", it started
working again. I could not find anything in logs to indicate what the
problem was, syslog just shows it responding to SIGHUP every 5 minutes,
then nothing in logs until I restarted it.

Are there any known issues? I could not find any when I searched.

This is on Ubuntu Trusty 14.04.5 LTS.

** Affects: nagios-nrpe (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
