Ah, now I'm making progress! I read on http://my.opera.com/area42/blog/unique-look-ubuntu-look that you can give QT3 apps a human look-and-feel by getting this file: http://files.myopera.com/area42/files/qtrc and (slightly different from the instructions he gave), use it to replace the one in ~/.qt
