have accounts on askubuntu.com or ubuntuforums.org ? Perhaps the issue
could be moved there.

There have been issues as the intel_pstate driver has evolved to include
control via the methods you are using. What is your processor model?
What is your kernel version? And does your issue persist with the latest
mainline kernel, 4.10-rc6 (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v4.10-rc6/)?
