Still happens on 16.10 on a HP Pavilion 15 (Skylake i5-6300HQ, Intel 530, Nvidia 950M).
HandleLidSwitchDocked=suspend and then reboot 'fixes' it. However, it has the undesirable side effect of suspending when an external monitor is attached to the HDMI port (driven by the NVidia chip). In the latter case, the system also fails to resume from suspend, leaving only a black screen. I'd be willing to believe that this particular case is due to bugs in the nouveau driver. But the system should not be suspending when there is an external display attached in any case - this appears to be systemd policy overriding GNOME policy. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574120 Title: Notebook doesn't suspend when lid is closed after update to 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1574120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
