It seems like you've tripped across a bug in NPTL. From the other bug
you filed, though, I'm confused about which architecture you're doing
this on. Is it i386 or amd64?

Do I need special equipment to work with xvidcap? It would be useful if
I could run this locally to see the bug, but I don't have video capture
equipment.

FWIW, your assertions aren't strictly true. There were a number of
things that LinuxThreads permitted that NPTL doesn't. In every case,
those were violations of the standard.

What I'd like to do is try the package on current edgy first to see if
it's simply a bug that's been fixed by upstream that might need to be
considered for Dapper.

Tks,
Jeff Bailey
