I agree that displaying the faulty disk may be a good feature since the warning message doesn't say much about which disk amongst the 4 is the faulty one.
Extra steps are needed in order to identify the faulty disk. The warning : "The hard disk health status has changed. This could mean that hard drive failure is imminent. It is always a good idea to have up to date backups" is generated by "smart-notifier" src code. I think this falls under "Wishlist" as this is according to me a missing functionality. ** Changed in: smartmontools (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: smartmontools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Summary changed: - Useless warning popup + smart-notifier doesn't display the faulty disk when warning about disk health status ** Also affects: smart-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: smart-notifier (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: smart-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Summary changed: - smart-notifier doesn't display the faulty disk when warning about disk health status + smart-notifier doesn't display the faulty disk device when warning about disk health status -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1648981 Title: smart-notifier doesn't display the faulty disk device when warning about disk health status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/smart-notifier/+bug/1648981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
