I'm going to take this one further and mark this bug Won't Fix. If you
can persuade pwgen upstream to add this option, then we can reopen it to
track progress in Ubuntu. Otherwise, we won't be adding this in an
Ubuntu delta.
As Christian says, adding a newline is Unix standard and any tooling
that uses output of a Unix command is expected to be able to handle the
newline itself.
