Public bug reported: I have been using a monitor to extend the display on my laptop since Trusty. It is connected through HDMI cable to my laptop, then I extend the display instead of mirroring.
Strange things started happening after I switched to Xenial. After my screen gets locked automatically and I unlock it, I will find my windows moved around workspace windows. If I disable workspaces, then I will have windows disappear. I then have to re-enable workspaces in order to find that they were moved to a virtual workspace window. This is exacerbated when I try to access a window by clicking on an application in the side bar and I am taken to workspace windows that I am not familiar with. Trying to get back to previous windows then becomes a search activity. I want to disable workspaces but I can't since I have to use the extended display. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - 16.04: Unity moves windows to different workspaces when using multiple monitors + 16.04: Unity unexpectedly moves windows to different workspace windows when using extended display -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1649476 Title: 16.04: Unity unexpectedly moves windows to different workspace windows when using extended display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1649476/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
