I tried the same situation with the Gutsy RC. The shutdownscreen appears a few seconds too late, before there is another false image, not the same as in the beta, it consists of paragraphs and sqares. (I will make an image if it helps)
But what really matters: The same image appears when I try to access the console by pressing Strg + Alt + F1. I don't know if it was already in the beta, because I have not tried there.
