No activity does not mean that the issue has been settled. As a matter
of fact, 3D effects do not get enabled on my 'Radeon 7200' board because
of the reasons outlined above. I do not know of any distribution which
has fixed this issue ('Fedora' clearly hasn't).I had posted earlier that adding a suitable 'drirc' file allows to get 3D effects up and running.
