Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1) Install fresh Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
2) Install Samba, Winbind and the corresponding libpam-winbind packages
3) Execute pam-auth-update and activate Winbind/ActiveDirectory authentication
4) Login to the system

/var/log/auth.log fills up with error messages:

PAM unable to dlopen(pam_winbind.so): /lib/security/pam_winbind.so: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
PAM adding faulty module: pam_winbind.so

And indeed there is no /lib/security directory at all. pam_winbind.so is in
/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/security

Symlinking /lib/security to this directory leads to "symbol not found"
errors for pam_winbind.so

This worked a few days ago -. there must have been an update very
recently which breaks pam_winbind.so.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
