Thanks for your bug report. As you've shown, the faac command indeed supports tagging tracks with title, artist, etc. However, this is not implemented in abcde, very likely due to the fact that there is no way to tag a track after it has been encoded. As you may e aware, one can configure abcde to process CDs in different ways, such as reading from CDDB, creating a cuesheet, encoding, tagging, etc. M4a/AAC tagging is likely not implemented because there is no way of tagging the file during the tag process.
To implement this would require a special case to be added for m4a/aac files, to tag while encoding. In the time left before gutsy is released, it is not possible to add this functionality, but since I agree that tagging should be supported, I'll see about implementing this for hardy, and getting it backported to gutsy backports. ** Changed in: abcde (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist Assignee: MOTU (motu) => Luke Yelavich (themuso) Target: None => later -- abcde fails to tag m4a (aac) files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138367 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
