Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thinkpad-base
Computer: Thinkpad X40 dmesg: [ 269.800000] ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection [ 269.932000] ipw2200: Detected geography ZZM (11 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels) Fn-F5 key toggled wireless in 7.04. After upgrading to 7.10 Fn-F5 did not toggle wireless. This can be fixed by editing /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.modprobe Initial contents of /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.modprobe after upgrade: options thinkpad_acpi hotkey=enable,0xffff8f experimental=1 Contents of /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.modprobe, which results in working Fn-F5 key combination: options thinkpad_acpi hotkey=enable,0xffff experimental=1 I'm not sure if this is a bug, as I've seen reports using the initial configuration ("0xffff8f") without any mention of the key combination not working. What is the purpose of the "8f" portion of the mask? ** Affects: thinkpad (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Thinkpad Fn F5 Toggle Wireless Broken (7.10 upgrade from 7.04) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
