I think I've found a remaining issue : Start KDE, then start Compiz. Everything should be fine.
Now logout from KDE, and login with the same user, and set the KDEWM environment variable to /usr/bin/compiz --replace in your .bash_profile. The bug reappears. I think it's a memory issue because Compiz remains loaded.
