Hi, thanks for your reply, pleasantly quick. This is not the last issue. Last time all it needing doing was to open a database. This time jabref does try to do a search but does not return any results, 0. I also checked to see if firewall was blocking it but: sudo ufw status [sudo] password for koli: Status: inactive
So not sure what is causing the problem....
