Public bug reported: In Ambiant-MATE theme (and maybe other similar themes), the battery status icon, present in the mate-indicator-applet, has incorrect size to be properly drawn in the systray (and also in contextual menu).
The battery icon set have different width and height (for example, 32x24), and that results in a poor rendering where icon seems to be vertically aligned on the top instead of being vertically centered. The issue appeared in Ubuntu MATE 16.10 and was not present in Ubuntu MATE 16.04. I think this was caused by the GTK2 -> GTK3 migration for mate-panel & applets. Note that I'm not sure if it should be considered a theme issue or a mate regression.
