Yup, the workaround in bug# 123104 worked, I'm not calling this a dupe
yet though as in our case the laptops suspend, but dies on resume.
Here's the workaround (thanks to Jose de la Rosa):

Workaround with new driver 100.14.19. In /etc/default/acpi-support,
change to:

MODULES="uvcvideo"
SAVE_VBE_STATE=false
POST_VIDEO=false

Suspend and Hibernate both work as long as the parameters above are set.
