Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

These are the sun-java packages installed (from the ubuntu repos
(feisty)):

ii openoffice.org2-java-common 1.9.129-0.1ubuntu4 OpenOffice.org office suite
Java support arc
ii sun-java5-bin 1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2 Sun Java(TM) Runtime
Environment (JRE) 5.0 (
ii sun-java5-jre 1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2 Sun Java(TM) Runtime
Environment (JRE) 5.0 (
ii sun-java5-plugin 1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2 The Java(TM) Plug-in, Java
SE 5.0

dpkg -L states that sun-java5-jre is installed in:

/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.11/jre/

In openoffice if I go to tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> Java

Press "Add..." and select /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.11/jre/

I get a message saying there is no JRE installed in that folder. (I will
attach a screenshot)

** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
