These are the sun-java packages installed (from the ubuntu repos (feisty)): ii openoffice.org2-java-common 1.9.129-0.1ubuntu4 OpenOffice.org office suite Java support arc ii sun-java5-bin 1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 ( ii sun-java5-jre 1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2 Sun Java(TM) Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 ( ii sun-java5-plugin 1.5.0-11-1ubuntu2 The Java(TM) Plug-in, Java SE 5.0 dpkg -L states that sun-java5-jre is installed in: /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.11/jre/ In openoffice if I go to tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> Java Press "Add..." and select /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0.11/jre/ I get a message saying there is no JRE installed in that folder.
