@Nico: I'm not denying that you're seeing a problem, I just do not
believe it to be the same as the problem originally reported on this
bug. Your last comment confirms this - the problem reported here is
accessing a dfs sub-filesystem, and you appear to be having problems
accessing the top-level cifs mount.

That is why I am asking you to file a new bug. Please do so, and I will
help you there.
