Public bug reported:

I ran into this accidentally while testing stuff. I don't know if it's
affecting anything, failsafe X seems to work normally.

I intentionally broke the mouse driver entry in xorg.conf. Failsafe X
came up and I started the failsafe GDM. Then without logging in or
chaning anything I rebooted. After reboot, failsafe X dialog didn't
appear anymore but instead the old xorg/gdm blue terminal dialog saying
X could not be started and If I wanted to look at the server output.

I chose yes and got the following message:

/etc/gdm/failsafeXServer: line 47: [: too many arguments
Warning: Failsafe mode was already attempted within 30 seconds.
Warning: Falling back to gdm to report the issue.

I assume the last 2 lines are ok and do appear by design. But the first
line looks line there is somewhere a bug/typo in the script.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
