You're welcome. I've been testing the patched DEBs for 5 days already and so far the bug didn't happen. The patch "rename.patch" was introduced by Roy Richardson (https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12264#c114), then I picked the patch, applied it to Thunar's original source-code and then created and signed the patched version that I uploaded to the PPA. Hope it helps other Xenial users.
