Public bug reported:

Hi,
I know that 12.04 is only "supported" via the ppa.
But according to our IRC discussion I still file the bug so that we can focus
and document the decisions here.

Background - when uvt creates images it uses the python libvirt bindings.
It seems that these now create images with lazyy-refcount flag.

Those cannot be read by the qemu in precise.
The error will look like this:
uvt-kvm: error: libvirt: internal error Process exited while reading console
log output: char device redirected to /dev/pts/0
kvm: -drive
file=/var/lib/uvtool/libvirt/images/kvmguest-precise.qcow,if=none,id=drive-virtio-disk0,format=qcow2:
 '' uses a qcow2 feature which is not supported by this qemu version: QCOW
version 3

A good explanation on the details is at

qcow2-images.html

** Affects: uvtool (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
