*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1571865 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1571865
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The option you have was as a comment in the default my.cnf in the past. However, this option is depreciated in 5.5 and removed in 5.6, It was removed from the default conf later on. But since Ubuntu preserves your changes to a config you might still have that in which is now causing that break. Fix your config related to this and reinstalling should fix your issue on your system. There is some more background and the try to auto-fix some common cases already included, feel free to read https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1571865 for more. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1571865 mysql fails to start after upgrade if previous defaults were customised -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1617185 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.13-0ubuntu0.16.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1617185/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
