Any sort of response on your part other than that one would be appreciated. You have not made any attempt at all to explain yourself. This bug has two parts:
1) Parted seems to be failing to sync with udev and wait for it to create the device, despite carrying a patch to make it do just that 2) multipath-tools still has a udev rule that creates a duplicate partition device using the '-part' suffix. Your proposed change to parted actually makes #2 even worse, and your change to multipath-tools was to have it run an update rather than an add, which helps remove deleted partitions, but does nothing to address either of the two issues this bug is about. Please explain why you think this bug has been solved in multipath-tools and still needs work in parted. ** Changed in: parted (Ubuntu Trusty) Status: Triaged => Invalid ** Changed in: parted (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1473903 Title: parted will generate two devices when adding one partition on mpath device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/1473903/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
