Sorry for taking so long to get back. Unfortunately without hardware that exhibits this behavior, I don't feel I can easily work out what is going on.
If someone is willing to test pulseaudio packages one at a time as I disable and progressively enable ubuntu-touch patches to find the culpret, it would be much appreciated.
