Same issue here on a SONY VAIO PCG GRZ 615M equipped with a synaptic touchpad. Using currently Gutsy latest build with all updates. When switching user the touchpad is not responing anymore. ( mouse pointer is at the middle of the screen) Pressing ctrl+alt+tab brings me back the unlock-dialogue of the account where I'm logged in already and just need to enter the password. The touchpad is than working again.
