Same has jmspeex, Ctrl-SysRq-b works and Ctrl-Alt-Backspace doesn't work. I also noticed something special about this bug. I experienced the bug yesterday too but I noticed that one on my terminal windows wasn't freeze. It was pinging Google and the terminal didn't look like if it was freeze at all. I saw each answer from the Google servers in the terminal windows one by one like if it was working normally. However, I was still able to move my mouse but nothing was happening when I clicked somewhere. Ctrl-Alt-Backspace didn't work.
So maybe that this strange behaviour can give some clues about the bug! The X server doesn't look like being completely freeze. ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- random system freeze when desktop-effects activated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
