hello Light Templar, the difficulty in publishing packages is that every dependency (such as groovy and 20 others for freeplane) must be packaged separately from source.
And Ubuntu 16.04 has different dependencies which means the package and/or the depenencies must be adapted. Adapting dependencies is hard, because there are other reverse-dependencies. I'll see if I can so something, but it won't be easy.
