I confirm that this bug is fixed in newer releases. I tested gnome-disk-utility 3.18.3.1 on a Linux Mint MATE 18.0 32bit! and the benchmark works now.
I checked the 32bit iso image on a 32-bit hardware and on a 64-bit hardware: this bug is fixed on both.
