Binary package hint: update-manager
I am trying to upgrade to Kubuntu 7.10, my laptop is a 866MHz PIII with
256 Mb RAM and plenty of free disk space (600MB in / and 1.6Gb in
/tmp). When I run 'kdesu "adept_manager --version-upgrade"' everything
works until it needs to go and fetch the upgrade (step 3 or 4), then the
Version Upgrade window goes blank with just a progress bar at 0%, my
computer slows down to a crawl and the hdd light is on permanently for
about 5 minutes before Version Upgrade disappears and the machine
becomes usuable again.
I will attach /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log and main.log.
